One of the saddest accidents that has occured here for a long while happened Monday evening in which Henry Musgrave, one of our citizens was killed almost instantly.
There was quite a bit of men at the home of Henry Medcalf, one half mile below town, helping him raise a new barn. They had raised a portion of it and in some way a bent of the barn became loose and fell striking Mr. Musgrave on the head and breast, fataly wounding him.Physicians were immediately summoned but he lived but a short time, and was able to speak.
Mr. Musgrave was an old soldier and was well known and liked by everyone.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. A.J. Richardson at the residence of the deceased at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Dale cemetery.
The deceased leaves a mother, a companion, and a son and daughter to mourn his death. They have the sympathy of all.
