MUSGRAVE, SAMUEL, b.1747,Lancaster Co., Pa., d. 2 Sept 1834, Warrick Co., Ind., m. 9 Oct 1767, Elizabeth Brand, b. Chester Co., Pa., d. 20 Mar 1843, Warrick Co., Ind. SERVICE: Enlisted in Jly 1776 in Cannonkachick Settlement, Cumberland Co., Pa. He served three months as a private in Capt Patrick Jack's Company. Enlisted again in July 1777 and served 3 months as a private in Capt George Crawford's Co., Col Irwine's Pa. Regt and was at the Battle of Brandywine. Then in 1782 Samuel Musgrave served 12 months as an Indian Spy under Lieut. Robert Rirchie in the Pa. Troups.
